Types of disinfectant dispensers: A brief overview
Not all dispensers are the same: broadly speaking, they are divided into manual lever dispensers, sensor-controlled models, and different designs such as wall-mounted or stand dispensers. While the classic arm-lever dispenser, such as the CWS MediLine Universal Dispenser, is considered particularly robust and scores well in clinical settings, sensor-controlled versions offer touchless hygiene, especially beneficial in environments where many hands are placed under the dispenser every day.
There are also major differences in refill systems: classic bottles, cartridges, or practical bag-in-box solutions each offer advantages.
- Classic bottles are easy to handle and placed directly in the dispenser. They are ideal for smaller facilities or sites with fewer user changes.
- Cartridges provide hygienic refills, as they are mostly airtight and can be changed quickly and cleanly – an advantage where speed and germ-free handling matter.
- Bag-in-box systems are particularly suitable for larger dispensers or high-traffic locations: they allow efficient emptying, reduce waste, and make refilling easier.
What all systems have in common: they require correct operation and should only be used with the recommended product.
