From waste to valuable raw
material
Orange peel oil usually comes from oranges used in juice factories or other food industries. This is what makes Unwaste's process so unique, because it uses orange peels after post-consumer consumption: the residual material from juice production that would normally be discarded. Where a lot of orange juice is squeezed, think for example (juice) bars at stations or airports, there are also a lot of peels. These are collected. The oil is extracted from the orange peels and then used as an ingredient in the production of hand soap. The soap is delivered to you on a regular basis by CWS Hygiene. In this way, we not only create a pleasant hand washing experience, but also innovation and sustainability in your sanitary facilities.
Each liter of soap contains upcycled ingredients made from approximately 520 grams of post-consumer orange peel residues that would otherwise be discarded. By giving organic waste from end consumers a second life, Unwaste reduces the need for virgin raw materials and helps cut avoidable waste in production.
The orange oil from the peels gives the soap its natural scent and color. What was once waste is now a nourishing and renewable ingredient.
